For some time I have wanted to keep a record of the things, people and events that I remember when I was growing up!
Why? Because in the space of my lifetime thus far the world has changed so dramatically! Anyway this is my story
I was born in the city where my Mum had lived and then taken home to the remote country called the Monaro in NSW
My parents were granted a block of land under the soldier settlement scheme.
There was a ballot for the blocks of lands available and my Dad was successful in winning a block of 1600 acres.
The land and climate was to say the least bleak and cold/freezing in winter and sometimes very hot in summer.
Iwas the eldest of 4 children; 3 girls and 1 boy
